Ok. I'm new to upgrading my Tivo and I have searched high and low how I can format the 500GB Seagate DB35 to install in my HR10-250. I'm replacing a bad drive, not adding on to it.

IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE USING A MAC???

Everything I've seen so far involves using a PC and lots of complex code. My plan is to install the drive in a firewire enclosure and format it properly. The question is... How?

I have Toast and have used disk utility to format drives before, but not for a TiVo. What do I need to do? Or is it simply not possible on a Mac? Please help -- I'm tired of not having a TV to watch! :) Any help is EXTREMELY appreciated.

Sorry to say, as a big Mac user, there are really no tools for the Mac. In theory, since Macs are running similar software, there should be a way to port the tools, but we've never seen it done.
