My TCD649080 is on it's way but I am already thinking about adding a larger drive to it.

Question: Does Weakness prep the drive so it is ready to slot in as drive B? Essentially meaning it's plug and play?

Also what is the advanced cooling pack, is it necessary?

That is correct; the drive is plug and play.

The ACP is a second fan that is mounted on the drive bracket. We do recommend it. Heat is a big enemy of hard drives and anything you can do to improve cooling is wise.
