I purchased 2 500gb drives back in late August for 2 of my directv dvrs with tvo (r10 & rca dvr80) with the 6.1 and 6.2 software on them. I thought they mentioned that they included the DST updates but apparently they do not, as items that are going to record starting Sunday are an hour earlier than they should be on.

I obviously have the phone lines unplugged on these two as they got the crap 6.3e update that Directv pushed upon everyone to get them to go to their crap dvrs.

My question is, since obviously they weren't as up to date as I believed, how do I get the time fixed on Sunday so they'll record shows correctly?

Thanks,

Rob

I'm really not sure. How can you tell now that shows on Sunday will record at the wrong time?

I have the same problem and I think it has to do with the replacement disk I have which has 6.2 OS instead of 6.3. I just need to know how to force an OS download, I think.

I've not checked yet today (I'm at work), but when I checked last night, Extreme Makeover Home Edition which is on at 8PM is set to record at 7Pm. Dexter which is on at 9pm is set to record at 8PM. Reaper which is on at 9pm on Tuesday is set to record at 8pm.

Got it.

The only solution I can think of, unfortunately, is to let your unit get 6.3e.

As best we can tell, the overwhelming majority of 6.3e problems are experienced by users who put their units in standby. So just don't put your unit in standby, and you should avoid the problem.

OK - interesting news. My wife emailed to remind me that DST changes a week later this year. As always, she's right:

I am having similar issue. I just got my R10 back from WeaKnees and it is an hour off. It is 10AM in Dallas & R10 shows 9AM. I just finished resetting all my Season Passes. I had it on Central Time Zone & to detect automatically form satelite. The R10 in our bedroom is fine. Will my shows record correctly although they all have wrong start times & what happens nexty Sunday? Thanks.

It came back from WeaKness with software version 6.13. It says it is on standard time. I am trying a reset.

Reset did not work.

My only guess is that DTV is withholding the 6.3e update pending fixes for some bugs. What is your last dial in status?

Is your unit off by an hour today?

I just received the R10 back from WeaKnees this week & hooked it up & reactivated with DTV yesterday afternoon. Should I call DTV & ask them to send this update to the unit. The R10 in our bedroom has 6.3. Can I force a dial-in?

Yes - try forcing a dial-in and see if that updates the software. You may need to reboot after the dial-in is complete.

I tried that & no go. Do I need to call DTV?

My Series 1 (SVR2000) is off by -1 as well. I am running software 3.0-01-1-010

Any suggestions?

Have you forced a dial-in?

Yes, forced a dial in this morning and nothing changed... I just upgraded my drives from Weaknees a few weeks ago so I assumed I should have the latest OS.

After I responded to this post, I rebooted the Tivo and it picked up the correct time. Thanks!

I installed the new HD I received from Weaknees today and I've run into tis very issue. The time is 1 hour behind.

Here are my settings:

DVR: Directv Tivo R10
Platform: Series 2
Time Zone: Automatically Detect from Satellite (I'm in the East - NC)
Daylight Saving: Automatically Detect From Satellite (Standard Time listed in System Info)
OS: 6.1-01-2-521

I've tried to force a download but nothing changed. I tried it again and rebooted the DVR, still no change.

Has anyone found a way to correct this problem?

Thx in advance!
