I have just "upgraded" to the smallest Series 2 box with dual tuner.

1. I kept the old single tuner box which has a 160 hour hdd (I think) and plan to keep the old box as a backup. If I take the hdd out of the old box, can I just add it to the new one or do I have to replace the hdd in the new box with the old one? In other words, will the box handle the two hdds or is it limited to one?

2. If I can add it to the new box, is the additional capacity pretty much transparent or do I have to somehow address the two different hdds?

3. In this latter instance, will I be able to view the proggies that were left on the hdd of the old box?

TIA

1 - You can add it. You'll need a TiVo bracket (http://www.weaknees.com/twinbreeze.php) and this software:

http://tivo.upgrade-instructions.com

2 - Use that software to add it.

3 - Nope. They'll be wiped. And the drive in the old unit will need to be restored from backup to work again.
