  • Sony SVR-2000 upgrade possibilities

I got a great deal on a 200GB ultra ATA/100 hard drive. Looking at the upgrade page on WK, it looks like there is a size limitation on drives for that unit. Am I correct in assuming that the 200 won't work in my SVR-2000, or won't recognize more than ~130 GB of it?

I already have an upgrade (from WK) that brings me up to 141 hours (single drive). If I want to add another drive, does it have to be the same size as the one in there? I also have a 120GB and a 160GB drive available (ATA/133). Can either of those be added as a second drive?

    Thanks, James

You are right - you won't get more than 137 GB out of that drive. But it'll work fine in that unit. You'll need a second bracket to install it, and you'll need to use the MFSADD method:

Will you be getting the brackets back in stock? How much are they?

I guess I'll use the 120GB drive for this, that should give me > 100 hours more. Plenty of room for a Season Pass for The Sopranos (coming to A&E).

      Thanks, Jas.

We have a few brackets - not a ton. We'll PM you ordering info.
