  • Combining upgraded HR10-250 and HR21-700

I recently had my HR10-250 upgraded and it was working wonderfully. Recently, DirecTv offered to upgrade my system to the HR21-700 for free, explaining to me that DirecTv is quickly changing over all HD channels to the Mpeg 4 format and that the HR10 won't be able to pick up any HD channels very soon. They also installed a 5 LNB dish. The HR20 actually seems to be working ok but I have a lot of recorded programs on the HR10 I would like to see so I was wondering if it is possible to hook up both the HR10 and HR20 to the same TV set? I guess I'm asking for the best of both worlds.
I am also wondering if it is able to transfer recorded programs on either of the HR's to my computer or a dvd recorder?
    Thanks for any advice.

Sure - no reason you can't have each DVR connected to a different input on the TV. If you want both to get live satellite programming, you'll need an active card in each, and extra lines run from the dish or multiswitch to that location.

You can't transfer video off either unit, unfortunately.
    Been here a long time . . .
