Series 3 Question

I want to get a new Series 3 because we just installed a plasma TV. We have a Pioneer 810 with a DVD burner. I really need to have the burner capability.

I called Tivo and they said an external burner could be connected to the device. But when I go to the Website to look for documentation on the how to, there is nothing.

I need to know the definitive answer, can an external DVD burner be used with a series 3 box, what interface (USB, firwire).

Yes, it can be, but only via an analog output. So you'd use RCA or S-video cables to connect to the burner, and you'd burn in real time. It wouldn't be like burning on a computer.
