  • Should I install a new fan at all, and if so, should I install 2 fans?

I was wondering how long the original fan in a Series 2 lasts? I'm going to be swapping out my single hard drive (it's starting to die) and put in a new one, and wondering if I should just replace the fan while I'm at it? My Series 2 is about 5 years old. What is the risk of the fan dying and possibly ruining my new hard drive? Any recommendation?

Also, is it worth purchasing the TwinBreeze+ACP even though I will only have 1 hard drive installed? Will 2 fans with 1 HD make the HD last longer? Or is just 1 fan fine?

With one drive, the TB+ACP is not necessary.

After 5 years, you would probably be making a good decision to replace the factory fan while you're in the unit.

Thanks, I think I'll probably replace the fan. Can I assume the replacement fans you sell are equal or better than the originals?

        Yes, they are factory replacements.
