Can I transfer Programming?

I am considering upgrading my Toshiba SD-H400 Series 2 with a larger drive. Is there a way I can do this and transfer all of the existing programming to the new drive? I am very comfortable with computers, and would be OK doing some sort of disk copying within Linux if that is what is needed.

If this is not feasible to do myself, is going for the upgrade service my only option?

Otherwise, you can either send it to us for the complete upgrade, or you can transfer the shows over your home network to a computer, then swap the drive with a new kit from us, and then transfer the shows back.
