  • Replacing dead drive with new one?

My 40 gig series 2 drive went dead and I bought an 80 gig thinking I could just use the MS tool thingy to install the drive structure. I guess I was wrong. Is there a way to install a brand new drive if you don't have anything to create a backup from?

If so, please let me know where to go for this. I've heard about being able to get an image of someone else's (?) tivo drive but I'm not sure I understand where to even start to look for this.

    Thanks in advance!!

Not really - you need to copy the software from somewhere. We can do it for you:
