  • Divorcing two hard drives

I would like to remove a B drive and leave the A behind in my TiVo (long story). I seem to recall there was a command to "divorce" the two drives so the A can once again operate on it's own.

    Anyone?

Basically, you need to do a backup, then restore the backup to the one remaining drive.

Now why didn't I think of that?

Thanks, Michael. I assume I should delete all recordings, first?

It really doesn't matter. A backup w/o recordings will be the same size regardless of whether you delete them beforehand or not.

One note: if you don't delete them beforehand, you'll see the shows listed in the Now Playing List after the restore. But if you try to play them, they'll produce an error. It's not a big deal, but just be prepared.
