  • New line off of existing run

I intend to have 5 lines / rooms fed by a multiswitch. One of the rooms has a jack in an awkward place. I'd like to get in the attic, split the existing line and run a cable to a new jack in a better location.

    What splitter would be best?

    Thanks,

    Herb

    Are you using a SWM?

When you say that you want to split the line in the attic, do you really mean cut it at the attic and run it to a different location, so you'll still have 5 but will no longer use the inconveniently-located jack?

      Sorry for being vague...

I'll be using a SWM. I'd like new jack and old jack to coexist. I won't use the old jack, but I don't want to render it useless either.

      Thanks,

      Herb

I could just as easily run a whole new line from the splitter to this new jack. I'll be using 6 tuners (2 dvrs + 2 receivers). So if I'll have capacity for two spare tuners. I think I'll leave the old line untouched.

        Thanks,

        Herb

It sounds like you just need our DirecTV approved 1x2 SWM splitter:
