Series 3 Upgrade?

If, for example, I buy a 300-hour Series 3 now, can I upgrade it to longer recording time later?

Sure - we have Series3 upgrade kits (http://www.weaknees.com/s325.php) ready to go. These are based on Seagate DB35 drives and are as quiet as (or quieter than) the stock drive.

I decided to bite the bullet and odered a 100 HD hour Series 3. Now I'm having trouble with the local Comcast outlet - I was just told by a "supervisor" that they had to send out a tech to install cable cards and pick up my Comcast DVR, which I expected, but that they wouldn't be able to install the cable cards in the Tivo since it's a "competitive product". Any thoughts on that?

Legally, they have to. You might need the next level up on the management chain.
