  • Copy files from bad drive

Hi...I have two identical TIVO. One has begun to fail but it still boots. How do I:

    1) Copy from another TIVO and use in the failed TIVO, or..
    2) Copy files from the failed TIVO without using disk backup|restore? I have used the Interactive Upgrade Intructions but the mfsbackup command stopped in mid stream because of bad sectors?
    3) Use the mfsbackup|restore command with ignore bad sector option?

    Thanks...your instructions rocks...

If you have bad sectors, then you won't get a good copy, so there's really no point in omitting those sectors.

If you have two identical models, copy the software from the good one to a new drive and use that in the problematic one.
    Been here a long time . . .
