  • Will this work?

I currently have two RG6 cables from my dish which is located about 150' from the house (where my C-Band dish used to be). They currently run into an 8-port multiswitch located behind the living room TV (analog). From there, cables run up into the attic to three bedrooms. The master has a Sony 42" HD, and the other two room have SD TVs and DTV receivers. If I install a SWM and a new 5LNB dish, can I get HD into the MBR and split it to both inputs on a DVR and do the same for the other BRs if I get new TVs? There is only one cable into each BR at present.

The DVR doesn't need a splitter with a SWM - it splits internally.

What are all of the models of the receivers? If they're all SWM compatible, then that should work. See the list here:

They're all pretty old, I am pretty sure I will have to upgrade, especially since I want to go to HD on one of them.

If you get all current equipment, then the SWM install will work fine.
