Samsung Sir s4040r format

I got a western digital hd from a philips DSR 708 and another one i got from a directv R15,I have the samsung sir s4040r witch is one that i am using right now i want to add one out of the two i have or add both but if im going to add one that would be the one that i took from the R15 witch is a seagate
I am new to this and my question is what is the format settings for the seagate and the western digital or how do i format them

Just follow the directions on the site for your situation. The brand of drive doesn't matter at all.
