  • E2 Expander and 2 SWM-8 witha single Power Inserter?

I need to connect 6 DirecTV HR21 receivers and I have an “old” first generation AT9 dish,
so I’m about to install a Dual SWM-E2 Expander and 2 SWM-8 Single Wire Multi-Switch and some SWS splitters.

    Questions:

1= Can I use a single PI-28 Power Inserter to feed both SWM-8?

2= Do I need another Power Inserter for the SWM-E2 Expander?

3=Can I use a single power inserter to feed everything (2 SWM-8 + the expander)?

Is there a diagram or circuit regarding this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Willy.

    1. No, you need the E2 power supply.
    2. See above--you use the E2 power supply, which powers both swms...you don't use the PI-28.
    3. Yes, see above--you use the E2 power supply.

      Thanks for your response Jeff.

Let me make sure I am explaining myself well before ordering the components I need.

The E2 power supply will power 2 SWM-8 and the Expander, right?

Should the E2 power supply be mounted outside and close to the swms and the expander,
or it goes inside and feeds all the devices trough one of the coaxial lines like when you install
      a single SWM-8 with its SWM-PI-28 ?

BTW= I can’t find the E2 power supply in the Weaknees site.

      Thanks again

First, the E2 includes the power supply - we don't sell it without one.

Next, the E2 is meant to be installed indoors. We really don't have a version for an exterior situation. So you'd need to run the four SAT cables inside to the E2. The power supply goes right into the E2 - not up through a SWM line like for an individual SWM module.
        Been here a long time . . .
