Directv to basic cable

Will my Phillips DSR-704 Directv DVR work if I just plug regular cable TV into it?I no longer have Directv and would like to still use the TIVO features on basic cable.Subscription to TIVO needed?

No - the hardware is totally different for those units. The DirecTV units really can't even be modified to work with cable. We do sell TiVos for cable (http://www.weaknees.com/tivo.php).
