I had a working DirectTivo this morning. I installed a weaknees add a drive kit, now it says: "Welcome. Powering up..."
It has said this for the last 30 minutes. This seems too long to be powering up.
I double checked the jumpers and the IDE cables before I closed up the box.
What else could it be?
Thanks,
Kirk

It is almost certainly an installation issue. We'd recommend that you start from scratch and check your cable connections very carefully, making sure that the ends of the IDE are installed in the correct places (blue in motherboard; black in master drive), and also triple-check to confirm that the jumpers are correct.

The directions said not to do anything with the jumpers on the new drive. I didn't see any jumpers on it. Were there supposed to be?
Thanks,
Kirk

Hey!, I just unplugged the gray and the black ends and plugged them back in. Must not have been seated firmly. I am at the "Almost there" screen now.
Touchy!
The "Just a few minutes more" message - Will it take more than a few since this is the first time booting with a new drive?
Thanks,
Kirk
