  • formating a new drive

I currently have a tivo series 2 (40hr) and am going to get a new 80 hour one. Rather than just store the other one I want to put the old drive in the new one for 120 hr. I would like to completely reformat the old drive to open up all of its space. Deleting all the old programs, OS, and the partition that tivo reserves to download its gold star ads to. I did not see anything is the instructions that suggested that the second drive would be reformatted. All I saw was the "expand" command. Is there a way to delete all data/partitions from a current tivo drive to be used as a second drive in a new machine. Would this be an extra step that is not mentioned in the on line instruction on weeknees?

Actually, the "expand" command - something with mfsadd - will completely overwrite the second drive, so this will accomplish that.
    Been here a long time . . .
