Problem seeing drive info when boot from cd

I think I have created the boot cd from iso correctly. The problem is the after hitting enter at the boot prompt the info scrolls by quickly and hitting the suggest <shift><pageup> doesn't do anything but beep at me at put garbage on the screen.

I do eventually get to a weeknees# prompt put still can't scroll up from there using <shift><pageup>.

Any suggestions for this.

You can see drive info if you type:

hdparm -i /dev/hda

and that should help you figure out what you have. Change the "a" in there for different drives.
