DRT800 Only works a little bit. Help.

I purchased a new T.V. and cabinet. When I reconnected the TiVo to the new T.V. I couldn't get the TiVo to talke to the cable box. I did a number of resets and the TiVo will play DVDs and from the pre-recoded "Now Showing. I just can't get it to accept and pass along the Cable box (Atlantic Scientific) signal. And I've run the cable box directly to the T.V. and it works. When I called TiVo they said "bad machine" and you're out of warranty so you need to purchase a new one. How could my machine go bad just by unpluging everything and reconnecting it to a new T.V.?

Any ideas?

Have you tried redoing Guided Setup? There's a step in there where you see what the TiVo sees and correct any problems. Just don't move past that unless you see video.
