HDVR2 Upgrade Question

I upgraded my HDVR2 with a replacement hard drive (250GB) Connected everything as before. Powered up the Tivo and...nothing...well the lights are on and I can hear the hard drive but no picture just that gray snowy picture on the tv. Any suggestions? Am I missing something basic? Thanks!
