View Full Version : Series 2 Freeze While Loading Info

I have a Series 2 TiVo with upgraded hard drive. Whenever the TiVo makes a service connection, it hangs about midway through the "loading info" process, usually around 44 %. The spinning ball stops, and the TiVo doesn't recognize the remote. Unplugging and restarting fixes the problem, except when it makes another service call and the same problem recurs. I've tried all the kickstart codes, but no luck. The hard drive tests indicate the drive is okay.

Help!

That's almost definitely a hard drive problem. A "replace" kit for your model should fix the problem:

Even drives that do OK on the kickstart tests can have this problem, and your symptoms are pretty clearly indicative of a hard drive problem.
