I had a TiVo unit in one room and a non-DVR unit in the other.
I recently acquired a second hand DirecTiVo to replace the non-DVR unit.
Everything appears to be working/receiving fine, but I don't know the pass code for ratings, etc.
Is there a way to reset the code?
Thank you

You have to reformat the drive with clean software . . .

Will an upgraded drive kit from you take care of that also?

Try a clear and delete everything. You'll loose all the shows on it but it should clear the password.

Often, you cannot C&D without entering a password.
Yes, a new drive kit will solve the problem.

Good News. The previous owner sent the password and I have now reset it.
New access card from Direct should be here today or tomorrow.
Now I can put off the upgraded drive which will free up funds for HT projects.:D
Thanks to all who offered advice.

I had the same problem, but a quick call to DirecTV and they reset the password for me.
