    Gents & Ladies

    I have a seires 2 tivo
i stream my recordings to my PC
i have 2 extra hard drives on my PC
    500+ hours of recordings

i am going to make the jump to a HD tv
    HOWEVER,,,,

    1) my existing recordings, will they play and how will they look?
(i have recorded in the "basic" quality)

    2) if i record on the new HD tivo, can i stream to my PC
    just like now
(i use a wireless network, and yes i know it takes up more hard disk space)

the problem I see with the new hd tivo is only 30 hours of space
yes i can upgrade, but at double the price

i travel alot and want to be able to record what i want and not worry about
    disk space

    thanx in advance
(no i did not use the search engine, but will search on this topic)

    fyi
i am thinking of buying a standard TV, larger, and waiting 6 months or so to upgrade. my thoughts is the prices of the tivo and the lcd/plasmas will come down further..............

Actually, the HD TiVo currently doesn't support transfer of video either to or from a PC. They may add that capability in the future, but so far they have DRM issues.

      seires 2 to 3

      Just spoke to Tivo

you cannot transfer date from tivo to computer...now
1 of the 3 people i talked to said it was coming this qtr

could not get a straight answer on the hours of recorded shows

i would assume that if the limit is 30 hours of hd or 300 of analog
      you could mix and match

however, i read somewhere last nite that the "quality of recording" feature is disabled in the seires 3

      my current solution:
as i have 500 hours stored and according to what i have read and been told, i will look like crap on a lcd or plasma hd set, i am going to buy a new 37 inch digital but not hi def tube set for a whopping $200 and tought it out for a few months

      comments?

Not a bad plan, but my guess is that you'll be waiting longer than a few months.
