i have comcast cable and hdtv. no card is required for the cable box to receive hdtv programming. i am considering upgrading to tivo3. will the tivo 3 unit require a card or two?

Yes, even though the cable box doesn't require a card, the TiVo Series3 will (one or two - we recommend two).
