I have a new Tivo2 DT (TCD649080) that I recently tried to uprade.. I wasn't successful in making the backup, and now I get a gray screen just after the yellow 'Powering Up' screen.. and it goes no further..

I think I broke it =8?|

So either the hard drive was corrupted or physically damaged, or the cable is disconnected. We have replacement hard drive kits for that unit here (http://www.weaknees.com/dt08.php).

I have a similar problem with a Tivo2 DVR (TOD24008A).

1. I get Gray "Welcome. Powering Up" screen, with green light for about a minute. Then the screen fizzles and it resets all over again.
2. It repeats with the "Welcome. Powering Up", over and over.

Anyone got an idea as to the problem? Bad Drive or power supply?

Thanks you,

That's almost definitely a bad drive. Replacement drives are here (http://www.weaknees.com/tv8a.php).

Typically, if a unit is stuck on "powering up," it means that the hard drive is bad. We would recommend that you consider a new hard drive kit. Simply find your model here:
