I am a newbie, who doesn't know much about the syntax to use the Hinsdale upgrade instructions to upgrade my series 2 drive. I am trying to type:
mfsbackup -Tao - /dev/hdc | mfsrestore -r 4 -s 127 -xzpi - /dev/hda

using mfs boot tools. My problem is that I can't type the vertical line character (not present on my keyboard). Also I am not sure if there is a space after the "-r" and "-s". Please help a newbie!

No space after those two dashes.

The pipe character is usually shift-backslash.

Thanks for fast reply. Now I get an error message:
mfsrestore: invalid option --1
Usage: mfsrestore [options] Adrive [Bdrive]
then a list of some options:
-h
-i file
-p
-x
-Xscale
-q
-qq
-vsizw
-ssize
-l
-B
-b
-z
Scanning source drive
Source drive is 57 hours
Uncompressed backup size 55203 megabytes

Then it just sits with blinking cursor. What do I do next?
