samsung sir4040r diagonal line noise.

I have a samsung sir4040r that is connected via svideo. to my sony xbr36 inch tube tv... it has been working great for the past three years.. just recently , i have started to get diagonal line noise when i am watching the tv, it only happens when im watching the tivo.. every thing is crystal clear when watching a dvd... i have tried swapping svideo cords and got the same problem , i tried different svideo connnections on the tv and still got the noise, it doesnt completely ruin the picture, but it is very annoying..

i have heard that maybe the power supply is going bad? will replacing the power supply fix a problem like this? has anyone ever seen this problem and maybe offer up a solution?

That could be a power supply, but it could also be a grounding issue (or a bad motherboard). Have you tried it on a different TV?
