Will I need dial-up after upgrade?

I'm currently looking at upgrading my Series 2. I would like to replace the current 40G drive with a single new, larger drive and keep the 40G as a backup. The TiVo is currently connected via my network and I do not have a phone line any more (only cellphone).

My questions are: Will I need access to a phone line after the upgrade? Do I need to do a specific type of upgrade to avoid need a phone line?

If you have been doing okay with your network connection, you should not need a phone line after the upgrade. If you follow the Weaknees instructions, you new drive should behave just like your old one, only larger.

If you buy a kit from us, you won't need a phone line. Our kits for Series2 standalone units can use the network right out of the box.
