I live in Sacramento and have Surewest(Fiber Optic)as my carrier. Can the new machine be used in place of their DVR or do I have to go back to Comcast? I also have basic DirecTV and was going to go OTA with an XL.
I'm not sure if that carrier is obligated by the FCC to provide CableCARDs, but I'd just call and ask if they support CableCARD technology. If so, a Premiere should work fine.
