the tivo unit reboots itself on its own after about 2hrs

can i take the hard drive out of this unit and install it in another samsung 4040r? thanks

Yes, but after moving the drive, you must choose 'clear and delete everything' in the system reset menu. If the rebooting follows the drive, then you need a new drive.
