8.1 Priority List Signup!

If you have a Series 2 standalone TiVo, you can sign up on the priority list (http://research.tivo.com/81priority/) for the 8.1 update.

This should (finally) have WPA support for TiVo wireless adapters.

Got mine - Three new features:

-WPA security.

-Padded times for live events: when you select a live event to record, the unit will recommend that you pad the end time.

-Enhanced speed.

Doesn't seem like enough to warranty the number change, but progress, nonetheless.

If you already have 8.1 and then you upgrade hardrive size do you need to sign up for the priority list again? How long will it take to get the 8.1 update?

No - it'll come down automatically, and it should be there within three or four connections.
