Just upgraded my TIVO with two new drives from Weaknees. Now I can't change the channels. Hooked up all the wires the same as what they were and don't think I changed any settings when it rebooted. Stuck on the National Geographic Channel. I've unplugged the Direct TV unit and restarted with no change.
Any suggestions? National Geographic is getting old.

I assume you're using a TiVo and a separate DIRECTV receiver. If that is the case, then you should check the IR blaster cable running from your TiVo to the DIRECTV receiver. Be sure that it is near the IR receiver of the DIRECTV receiver. Also, be sure that it is plugged into the IR port on the back.
If you are using serial control, double-check that it is in the serial port and that it is plugged into the proper connector on the DIRECTV receiver.

I checked the cables. All are connected the same way they were before the swapout. Made sure to "push" each and every connector in securely. Yes, I am setup with a seperate Direct TV receiver--RCA. Got into the satellite system and changed the channels with the remote control and TIVO put that channel on the screen but won't change channels by itself. Direct TV says(of course) that it is a TIVO problem.
Hope you have more suggestions. I love my TIVO!!!
