Series2 transfer shows to Series 3???

I have 2 160 Hour Series 2 Tivos (thank you Weaknees). We have been wishing for an affordable Series 3 to start recording HD channels from Comcast. I hate to loose my Series 2 investments, since I have lifetime subscriptions. Has anyone tried transferring standard recorded programs from the Series 3 to a Series 2?

I think you'll find that programming cannot be transferred off of the Series 3. Nor can you transfers show onto it, except using a service such as Amazon Unbox.
