  • "A" Drive from one Tivo to "B" Drive in another?

    Hi,

This question has probably already been answered, I did look, but didn't see it. So if someone could either let me know where the thread is, or let me know if it can be done I'd appreciate it!

Here's the situation. I had a Tivo Series 2 TCD24004A which, thanks to help from this forum, and a lot of testing on my part, was found to have a blown motherboard. Since it had a lifetime service with it, I bit the bullet and paid the $149 for Tivo to send me another unit. Now I have a TCD649080. The original box was bought from WK with an additional 120 GB drive installed. I took the drive out and all the extra WK hardware before sending the box back to Tivo. On the original box, the 120 GB drive was the "A" drive and the stock 40 was the "B". Obviously now the stock 80 is the "A" drive. Is there a way I can take the (as far as I know) perfectly functioning 120 GB that was in the old unit and use it as the "B" drive in this scenario? I'd definitely need to buy a new Twin Breeze from WK, but if I could use the 120 drive it would help out.

    Thanks in advance!!

You will need to program the drive. We can do it for you, see:

    Programmed TiVo Hard Drives

    Or see:
