    Tivo Desktop 2.3a not responding

    Any thoughts on whats causing tivo desktop to not open up ? The tivo server runs fine, i can transferrr from the pc to tivo just fine. but every time i open up tivo desktop it gets about 70 percent open , then says it took too long to open, and i have to cancel it from opening. if i reinstall it, it does the same thing, if i remove it, then reinstall it, she Only works one time. then back to the previous problem?

    my pc is a p4 gig of ram,

    Sorry to say, no idea. Likely some conflict with other software installed, or possibly a hard drive problem on the PC. Lots of people are using that software, so I wouldn't think it's a known issue with the install package.

      I am brand new to TiVo as I just got last week but I have experienced the same thing. The only difference is I get the window that says it is taking too long to open and it gives me a choice to cancel or retry. I just click retry and it opens within 30 seconds or so. It does seem like tivo desktop uses a ton of resources.

        Ok i started shutting down tasks, and after i killed yahoo messenger, tivo desk top would come up on the second retry.
        I have an series 2 i had no problems with and a new series 3. the 3 was in the listing but its disabled to down load show's.
        does any one know if this is available ?
