Copy from old Phillips Tivo to HR 10-250

Apologies of this has been requested before ...

I am ungrading my DirecTV from the standard definition Phillips to the HR 10-250. I know DirecTV does not "support" Tivo any longer, and is trying to move me to their HD DVR system.

I am a lifetime paid up member of Tivo, and will be setting up the 10-250.

Is there any way to transfer existing recordings from the Phillips to the 10-250? I hate to lose those ......

Sorry, but no, there's no way to lose those shows.

But if they're on a DirecTV TiVo, you should still be able to use them, at least for a while. Just unplug the unit from the satellite inputs before you have it disconnected with DirecTV, and old recordings should still play.

I'm sure that's what Michael meant. You won't be able to move them from one unit to the other.
