Replacing hard drive in Hughes HDVR2

I have the above unit and it started to pixellize. Directv came out and said the hard drive was bad and they would replace the unit. When they came out, they had a diffent unit, they dont use Tivo boxes anymore. Now they have their own. By the way, these units BLOW.Thats for another day.If I change the hard drive, will this fix my problem with the pixellization?

Almost certainly yes. If you have a bad drive, then a new drive is the solution...and pixellation is typically the sign of a bad drive.
