  • Digital audio out (coax) to DAC?

Should I expect to get normal sound from the digital audio out (Sci Atl 3250 box) if run to the DA converter on my stereo system? I just get static--fast ticking noise. Thanks (audio connection from cable box to pioneer tivo to same DAC works fine, using the L/R audio out from cable box, not the digital out.

Does your stereo have a digital input? Why are you converting the audio to analog?

      Digital audio out

I added a DAC (music hall) to stereo system. I connected a Pioneer Tivo to the DAC by the Optical cable out on the Pioneer---Sounds terrific when using Pioneer burner to play cds, dvds.
I'm getting TV sound thru the Pioneer (from L/R out on the cable box).

Was wondering about the digital audio out (coax) on the cable box--any advantage in trying to use it? or just stay with the L/R audio outs connected to tivo.

      Thanks

The only advantage is that it should sound better . . .
