IDE Adapter Problem

I finally sat down to replace the hard drive in my Series 2 Tivo, so I opened the package I received from Weaknees and began to go through the instructions and parts. I noticed my IDE adapter has a dot of solder connecting three pins on the hard drive side of it. It doesn't look like it's supposed to be there, but just on the off chance I thought I should ask - is this normal?

That doesn't look good - is it something that can pop right off?
