  • Use SWM to distribute OFF-AIR signal to non DirectTV devices?

It appears that it may be possible to use a SWM8 to distribute OFF-AIR signals to non-DirectTv devices throughout a home. Is this possible? If so, what band splitters etc would be required?

    Thank you.

Yes - you need the SWM specific diplexers for that:

Be very, VERY, careful how and where you use those diplexers. One wrong location and your MRV goes down. You are better off running a hard line to your television from an off air terrestrial antenna. I spend a lot of time in the field repairing diplexed systems that were installed by both customers and technicians incorrectly. Diplexing and the inexperienced installer is not a good combination.

That's right - MRV and OTA are really not compatible at this point. Supposedly, DirecTV is working on a way around this, but they've really never been to happy to support OTA since it competes with their dish locals (for which they charge).
