TiVo Remote Control Problem

The Remote Control to my TiVo Series 2 DT DVR has started to act up.

Three of the buttons will no longer work...the TV Power button (and I am using the same TV as when it worked before), the seven second backup button, and the slow motion button.

Does anyone know what could be causing this and is there anything I can do about it, short of buying a new remote?

I really think the only thing you can do is to get a new remote.
