I need some answers...hopefully the folks here can help me.

    Some background first:

    1. I plan on 3 HD DVRs, 2 HD Receivers, 1 SD Receiver
    2. I've ran 2 RG6 cables to each receiver location. (Overkill...maybe)
    3. I'll install a AU9 dish

DTV told me that I would only have to run a single cable from dish to multiswitch (MS)????

They said I was going to have to install a MS.

Which MS am I going to need to operate all recievers and possible receiver upgrades?

I want to finish running cable before insulation goes in.... so time is the essence....about 2 weeks time.

Any guidance or information will be greatly appreciated for a DIY'er.

    Thanks in advance.

DIRECTV is smoking crack, with all due respect to them.

You have 9 tuners, so you will want to install a standard 3LNB or 5LNB dish (depending on your zip code), and you'll run 4 lines from the dish to your central wiring closet. From there, one line to each receiver location is sufficient.

In the wiring closet, I'd recommend a SWM16, but you could probably get away with a SWM8 if you never ever swap out the SD receiver with HD. Probably much better to go with the SWM16. See:
