  • Adding External HD after internal upgrade

    Hi
I had WeaKnees upgrade my S3 internal hard drive to 1TB (157 HD hours) earlier this year and I now I'd like to hook up the WD 500GB external drive that I used to use. Simply plugging in the new drive starts the "Msg 125" loop, and now I know this won't work.

So, given that I don't want to swap out my internal drive, what do I need to do? I've briefly looked at the mfslive.org web site and the apps they have, but they seem to be all about replacing the internal drive or adding another internal drive (backing up and copying disks, etc), but I'm just looking to "marry" the external drive to the system (preserving everything I already have). Can someone provide an overview of that process? I'm sort of hoping it won't involve copying entire drives (that I don't want to replace anyway).

    Thanks
    Mark

We can do it here; sorry to say, we don't have instructions for doing it at home.
    Been here a long time . . .
