  • Issues with my second drive

I just purchased a hard drive mount for my series 2 (TCD540040), and a second hard drive, a seagate DB35.2 250GB. The drive has the tivo software loaded (i booted up just from the new drive, and it worked perfectly). But when I have the drive attatched, in tandem, with the original 40 GB hard drive, it does not register in the system info menu (the drive on the master end of the ide cable is the only one that loads). I have tried a variety of jumper settings including cable select and master/slave configs... whats the deal?

When you have two drives in your TiVo they have to be "married".

You can't remove a drive from one TiVo and install it alongside another drive in another TiVo and expect it to work sadly. You'll need to recreate the drives as a pair.

    Hopefully that helps!

If you're looking for the commands to get the second drive to be recognized, go here:
