  • SWM for apartment

I own an 8 unit apartment and being in the midst of doing some other upgrades I'd like to run TV distribution "the right way" i.e. in-wall.

Accommodating the local cable company would be pretty easy - if a tenant wants their service the installer should be happy enough to drive the cable I've provided.

But I personally prefer DirecTv and would like to make that available. Is it possible/practical to configure SWM equipment so that each tenant could subscribe using my common antenna and distribution?

yes it can be done ... probably using a swm 16 or 2 or a swm 32 ..pending the size of your apartments . min 2 tuners per unit will fill a swm 16... of course not everyone will like dtv either... but you need to be prepared ...

Thanks, ebm... Out of ignorance of the SWM technology I was worried that DirecTv couldn't supervise multiple customer accounts on a common SWM installation. I'm very pleased that's not a problem.

Well . . . they like you to go through their MDU department for this kind of situation, technically.
        Been here a long time . . .
