  • Upgrading equipment, but somewhat confused about SWM.

    Hello,

I have three TVs in the house, one has a DirecTV R10 and the other has an RCA DVR80 (with a weaKnees upgrade). This is attached to an 18" oval dish through a 3x5 multiswitch. The third TV is connected to the DVR80 by a coaxial cable to another room through its RF output port.

Over time the original SD TVs have become HD TVs, with the exception of the third TV on the RF port. What I would like to do it to get rid of all the current equipment and replace the two DVRs with HD24s, and get a new 5LNB dish with the built-in SWM, but I'm not entirely sure what to get. I believe I need the following:

    - 2 HR24s, a 5LNB dish with a built-in SWM and power injector, and a 1x4 splitter.

Looking at the specs of the HR24, I don't believe the third set can be connected like it is now. Can the DVR80 be used with the SWM dish? Also, since the HD24 is a two tuner unit, does it need just one cable from the SWM or two?

    Any advice is welcomed.

    Thanks,
