Series 3 cable AND antenna connection

I've seen HOW to connect both but how does it work and is there any downside? Can I record any 2 things, either cable/cable, cable/antenna, or antenna/antenna? How does it affect the guide? I'm curious because I hear OTA is better HD than through a cable company.

Yes, you can record in any of those combinations, and the guide is fully integrated. In the guide, you won't really know which channels come from cable or antenna - nor do you need to know. If you happen to know which way you get a certain channel, then you'll know, but otherwise, it's all transparent.
